The Thompson Bros Glenburgie 17 Year Old Batch 2 continues the same recipe as the first release, showcasing Glenburgie’s naturally vibrant, fruit-forward character through maturation in first-fill Bourbon casks.

Aged for 17 years, this independently bottled Speyside single malt offers an impressive combination of tropical and orchard fruits alongside creamy sweetness, gentle nuttiness and more subtle woody and waxy notes.

The nose opens with dried mango and peach iced tea, followed by marshmallow, cashew nuts and sugary shortbread. Tobacco and tonka bean add a slightly deeper aromatic character beneath the sweeter notes.

On the palate, tropical fruit takes centre stage with mango, peach, physalis and lychee, complemented by custard cream, sandalwood and a subtle waxiness. The finish remains firmly fruit-led, bringing fresher notes of gooseberry, ripe raspberry and lime.

Bottled at a robust 53.7% ABV, Batch 2 is presented at natural colour and without chill filtration. With an outturn of just 1,134 bottles, this is a limited opportunity to explore a mature, Bourbon-cask Glenburgie with plenty of fruit and character.
