It undergoes a slightly longer aging process and is bottled at a higher strength, resulting in a more concentrated and indulgent flavor profile. It strikes the perfect balance between the honey sweetness of the 10-year-old, and the heavy oaken influence of the older bottlings: it is moist fruitcake with icing; demerara sugar on the nose, honey-coated banana chips, a sprig of mint. The palate is bursting with flavour, offering a touch of dryness to complement the toasty, rum-and-raisin nutty body…although the age statement says 15 years, there is likely some older malt in this recipe to lend it the heftiness and oaky notes. The perfect complement to a medium-full cigar such as a Montecristo No.4.
