Originally released as a limited edition, its exceptional balance and depth quickly secured its place as a permanent member of the core collection, showcasing Penderyn’s innovative approach to cask maturation.

Produced at the renowned Penderyn Distillery, this single malt undergoes a carefully managed two-stage maturation process. The spirit is first aged in specially selected ex-bourbon casks, developing a smooth, sweet foundation. It is then finished in rejuvenated European ex-wine casks — often STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) — which intensify the oak’s influence and introduce layers of rich fruit, spice, and complexity.

Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and presented in its natural colour, Rich Oak delivers a fuller, more textured drinking experience. The nose opens with indulgent aromas of dark chocolate fudge, cinnamon, and warming peppery spice, followed by a vibrant lift of tropical fruits including mango, banana, and crisp green apple.

On the palate, the whisky is rich and creamy, unfolding with notes of vanilla, nutty toffee, and a subtle sweetness reminiscent of strawberry cheesecake. The finish is long, smooth, and luxuriously lingering, with a creamy vanilla character that gently fades without urgency.
