Red Spot 15yo - Rich, historic, and exceptionally characterful, Red Spot 15 Year Old represents the pinnacle of the renowned Spot range — a revival of a legendary Irish whiskey style that had been absent for over half a century. Produced at the celebrated Midleton Distillery, this expression showcases the depth, complexity, and tradition of single pot still whiskey at its finest.

Matured for a minimum of 15 years, Red Spot is crafted using a distinctive triple-cask combination of American bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, and Sicilian Marsala wine casks. This unique maturation imparts a remarkable depth of flavour, with the Marsala casks in particular contributing layers of ripe fruit sweetness and richness that set this whiskey apart. Triple distilled from a mash of both malted and unmalted barley, it delivers the signature creamy texture and gentle spice that define the Irish pot still style.

The name “Spot” originates from the historic practices of Mitchell & Son, who marked their casks with coloured paint to denote age — with the red spot signifying a 15-year maturation. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, this whiskey retains its full body and complexity.

On the nose, rich cooked fruits such as baked apple, mango, and black cherry unfold alongside notes of new leather and toasted oak. The palate is full and velvety, offering sweet red pepper, cracked black pepper, and hazelnut, while the finish is exceptionally long, warming, and spice-led, with lingering stewed fruit and oak.
