Lindores Thiron 2025 is the second release in the distillery’s annual Thiron series, continuing a project that celebrates the historic connection between Lindores Abbey in Scotland and Thiron-Gardais Abbey in France. Following the success of the inaugural 2024 release, this latest edition builds on that foundation with a whisky that feels richer, more layered, and beautifully refined while still showcasing the distillery’s modern Lowland character.
Crafted in limited quantities, Thiron 2025 is matured across a combination of Bourbon casks, Rejuvenated Red Wine casks, and distinctive Thiron Virgin Oak casks. This carefully selected cask mix creates a whisky with impressive balance and complexity, where sweetness, spice, fruit, and oak all work together harmoniously. The result is a dram that evolves naturally in the glass, revealing new layers with each sip.
On the nose, mellow dates and berry jam are supported by toasted hazelnuts and warming cinnamon spice, creating an inviting first impression. The palate is particularly elegant and silky in texture, opening with smooth vanilla and golden syrup before developing into bright raspberry notes and fresh pastry richness. Layers of roasted hazelnut and subtle oak spice continue to build throughout, adding depth while maintaining freshness and balance.
Bottled at 49.4% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colouring, Thiron 2025 retains its natural texture, flavour, and chestnut colour entirely from cask maturation. It is a whisky that feels both contemporary and rooted in heritage, delivering complexity without losing approachability.
A refined and rewarding release, Lindores Thiron 2025 is a whisky suited to both collectors and those simply looking to experience something distinctive and beautifully composed.
