Château Beau-Site, Saint-Estèphe 2018
The northern Médoc is home to some of Bordeaux’s boldest, most structured reds, and Château Beau-Site 2018 is a textbook Saint-Estèphe. Nestled high above the Gironde estuary, the vineyard takes its name from its “beautiful site”, a vantage point that has delivered quality wines since the 18th century.
The 2018 vintage was a triumph for Bordeaux, and Beau-Site has bottled that success. Crafted predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, it captures the commune’s signature style: deep colour, powerful structure, and brooding complexity.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Dark berries, blackcurrant, and plum, laced with cedar, graphite, and a hint of tobacco.
Palate: Concentrated black fruit at the core, wrapped in silky tannins, with notes of cocoa, espresso, and spice.
Finish: Long, firm, and elegant — classic Saint-Estèphe muscle balanced by finesse.
2018 was a warm, generous year, and this shows in Beau-Site’s ripeness and depth. It’s drinking beautifully now with a decant, but the structure promises rewarding cellaring for another decade. Pair it with rich beef dishes, lamb, or mature hard cheeses for a truly indulgent experience.
A classic Saint-Estèphe. Château Beau-Site 2018 delivers bold black fruit, cedar, spice, and fine tannins in a structured, cellar-worthy claret.
