Raasay Na Sia 5 year old Red Wine Cask - unpeated
The Bordeaux Red Wine Single Cask bottlings feature high-quality casks sourced directly from the châteaux of South West France. These casks, stained red on the outside, are delivered fresh to the Isle of Raasay, imparting a unique character to our single malt whisky.
In the initial months of maturation, the spirit takes on a delicate pink hue from the cask, gradually deepening into a rich, dark red. This visual transformation is a testament to the cask's influence and the spirit's evolving profile.
The maturation in these Bordeaux casks enhances the whisky with bold and fruity notes, developing a complex array of flavours:
Every two years, we release the Na Sia Single Cask Series in both peated and unpeated variations, allowing whisky enthusiasts to experience the full spectrum of our craft.

Raasay Na Sia 5 year old Red Wine Cask
The Bordeaux red wine casks used are made from two oak species, Quercus patrea & Quercus robur, adding savoury spice, whilst the red wine imparts tannins into the new make spirit.
The casks were previously used to age three vintages of Bordeaux red wine, resulting in sumptuous, fruity top notes in the spirit like blackberries, plums, and cherries.
