The Kilchoman Mezcal Cask Matured 2026 Edition is a limited release single malt from Kilchoman Distillery, created to celebrate the 2026 European Land Rover Tour.
Matured for five years exclusively in mezcal casks, this distinctive whisky brings together Kilchoman’s signature Islay peat smoke with the herbal, earthy character of Mexican agave spirit. The result is an intriguing and well-balanced dram, where sweet peat smoke, maritime freshness and citrus brightness meet subtle minerality, gentle herbs and honeyed sweetness imparted by the mezcal casks.
The Land Rover Tour
The Kilchoman Land Rover returned to the road in 2026 for the distillery’s largest European tour to date, visiting 26 countries over ten weeks. The tour brings Kilchoman whiskies to enthusiasts across the continent, with events hosted in France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and, lastly, the United Kingdom.
About the Distillery
Located on a working farm on the rugged west coast of Islay, Kilchoman Distillery is one of Scotland’s smallest and most hands-on whisky producers. Founded in 2005, the distillery follows a traditional farm-to-bottle philosophy, carrying out every stage of production on site and producing distinctive single malts defined by vibrant citrus notes, maritime character and classic Islay peat smoke.
Kilchoman Mezcal Cask Matured
Nose: Sweet and welcoming with fresh citrus, agave, honey, sea breeze, sun-kissed oak and gentle peat smoke alongside hints of fruit.
Palate: Earthy, herbal and slightly bittersweet with notes of toasted oak, agave, citrus, honey, black pepper, pineapple, anise, sea salt and vanilla.
Finish: Long, oily and gently spicy with lingering black pepper, oak, earthy peat, honey, citrus, salted nuts, herbs and tropical fruit.
