Glendronach 14yo Boynsmill House Edition

The Glendronach 14 Year Old Boynsmill House Edition is a limited-edition Highland single malt created to commemorate the distillery's 200th anniversary and the legacy of its founder, James Allardice.

Named after Boynsmill House, the historic Georgian estate at the heart of Glendronach Distillery, this 14-year-old expression builds upon the rich, sherry-led style for which Glendronach is renowned. The whisky has been matured using Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalusia, before a finishing period in carefully selected Claret red wine casks.

The combination creates a particularly rich and layered whisky. Classic sherry influences bring dried figs, dates, dark chocolate and roasted nuts, while the Claret casks introduce brighter berry fruit and a gentle tannic structure.

On the nose, rich Christmas cake and candied orange peel meet dark cherry, chocolate and polished oak. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, developing dark cherry compote, dried fruits and honeyed malt alongside cinnamon and a touch of espresso.

Bottled at 46.8% ABV and presented at natural colour, the finish is exceptionally long and warming, with dark fruit and baking spices gradually giving way to the subtle dryness of the Claret casks.

A fitting anniversary release that combines Glendronach's traditional sherry character with an intriguing red wine cask influence.
