Glasgow 1770 Peated Bourbon Cask 10yo

The Glasgow 1770 Peated Bourbon Cask 10 Year Old marks a major milestone for The Glasgow Distillery, celebrating 10 years of peated whisky production with its first ever 10-year-old peated single malt.

Peated whisky production began at the distillery in 2016 and has since become an important part of its annual production. For this celebratory release, three carefully selected ex-Bourbon casks have been brought together, comprising two refill Bourbon casks and one first-fill Bourbon cask.

The decision to mature exclusively in Bourbon wood allows the mature peated spirit to remain firmly at the forefront. Made using malted barley peated to 50PPM with heather-rich Highland peat, the whisky balances delicate bonfire smoke with honeyed sweetness, tropical fruit and bright citrus.

On the palate, tropical fruit and smoky vanilla are joined by waxy lemon and dried orange peel, with the decade of maturation bringing a rounded texture and gentle oak spice. The smoke remains beautifully integrated throughout rather than overpowering the sweeter fruit character.

Bottled at 54% ABV with an outturn of just 550 bottles, this is a significant and particularly limited release from The Glasgow Distillery.
