Frapin VSOP Cognac

Frapin VSOP Cognac is a harmonious and beautifully balanced expression from one of Cognac's historic family-owned houses, offering rich fruit, floral elegance and gentle spice.

Produced exclusively from 100% Ugni Blanc grown on Frapin's own 240-hectare estate in Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the Cognac region, every stage from growing the grapes through distillation and maturation takes place on the estate. The chalky clay-limestone soils of Grande Champagne help produce elegant eaux-de-vie with excellent ageing potential.

Following fermentation, the wine rests on its lees before undergoing traditional double distillation in Charentais copper pot stills. The resulting eaux-de-vie are matured in Limousin oak barrels, with Frapin using a combination of different barrel ages and both humid and dry cellars to develop complexity, roundness and elegance.

The result is a wonderfully aromatic VSOP, opening with vibrant orange and delicate floral notes alongside subtle vanilla. The palate is fruity, rounded and harmonious, with gentle oak influence providing additional depth. Cinnamon and pepper spice emerge towards the finish, adding warmth and complexity without overpowering the fruit.

Bottled at 40% ABV, this is a refined and approachable Grande Champagne Cognac with an excellent balance of fruit, spice and mature oak character.
