Design Berlin Baltic Sea Straight Pipe

The Design Berlin Baltic Sea Straight Pipe is a compact, characterful design that puts the natural beauty of its selected briar firmly centre stage.

Its broad, rounded bowl has something of the classic Apple shape about it, paired with a comparatively short shank and straight black acrylic mouthpiece. At 140mm in length and weighing just 40g, it offers pleasantly stout proportions without becoming overly heavy or cumbersome.

A warm, glossy stain allows the individual grain of the briar to remain clearly visible, giving each pipe its own distinctive appearance. The Baltic Sea series' polished Army-style metal mount creates a smart contrast between the briar and acrylic mouthpiece, while a small gold-coloured db emblem provides the finishing touch.

Introduced in 2026, the Baltic Sea range forms part of Design Berlin's modern collection. While the company's origins can be traced back to Hubert Hartmann's Berlin workshop in 1948, these contemporary pipes are produced for Design Berlin by an experienced Italian pipe workshop using selected briar and acrylic mouthpieces.

The pipe is also drilled to accept a 9mm filter, continuing a format that has played an important role in Design Berlin's pipe making history since the 1970s.
