Torabhaig Legacy Series Chapter 3: Cnoc Na Mòine – A Peated Highland Rebel

The third chapter in the fiery Torabhaig Legacy Series, Cnoc Na Mòine is not just another bottle on the shelf,  it’s a smoke-laced, peat-rich declaration of island rebellion. Distilled on the Isle of Skye, Torabhaig is Scotland’s newest single malt distillery to truly make waves, and with Chapter 3, they're not holding back.

Cnoc Na Mòine, Gaelic for “hill of peat,” brings the elemental drama of Skye straight to your glass. With a name like that, you know you’re getting something unapologetically bold. This dram is a continuation of the distillery’s quest to carve out a new legacy, a spirit forged through tradition but far from trapped by it.

Expect dense waves of maritime peat smoke, scorched earth, and an earthy backbone tempered by layers of sweet malt and orchard fruit. There’s structure here, think smoky bonfires on windswept cliffs, balanced by vanilla oak and subtle pepper spice. It’s a whisky that feels like it’s telling you stories of stormy coasts, wild landscapes, and the kind of rugged beauty only Skye can offer.

Matured in a mix of American and European oak casks, Cnoc Na Mòine showcases how peat and precision can work in perfect harmony. Each release in the Legacy Series builds upon the last, setting the stage for Torabhaig’s upcoming 10-year-old, and this one may just be the most evocative chapter yet.

Perfect for lovers of Islay-style peat with a Highland twist, Torabhaig Cnoc Na Mòine is an essential chapter in the story of modern Scotch whisky. It’s complex, it’s raw, and it’s ready to convert any whisky lover into a Torabhaig loyalist.
