The Savinelli Porto Cervo 316 combines one of Savinelli's more unconventional Dublin shapes with the distinctive styling of a series that first appeared during the 1980s. With its textured brown briar, black acrylic stem, and decorative banding, the Porto Cervo offers a characterful blend of traditional pipe making and unmistakably retro Italian design.
The 316 is an atypical half-bent Dublin with generous proportions. Its conical bowl follows the general character of a traditional Dublin, while the unusual triangular shank gives the pipe a much more individual profile. Flowing into a tapered black acrylic stem, the gentle half bend creates an elegant silhouette while keeping the pipe comfortable and well balanced.
The briar is finished using Savinelli's distinctive "rock" rustication, producing a rugged, deeply textured surface in warm brown tones. The rim is left smooth, creating an attractive contrast against the surrounding rustication and drawing attention to the shape of the bowl.
One of the defining features of the Porto Cervo series is its decorative shank treatment. A wood-coloured band is framed between two slim gold-coloured rings, adding warmth and detail before transitioning into the simple black acrylic mouthpiece.
Weighing approximately 44g, the Porto Cervo 316 combines substantial proportions with a surprisingly manageable weight. An unusual and appealing Savinelli for anyone who appreciates distinctive shapes and classic Italian styling.
