Port of Leith Oloroso Sherry

Port of Leith Oloroso Sherry - 75cl, 17.5% vol.

Sourced from Bodegas Baron, a 480 year old producer with a very modern outlook, the un-matured version of this Oloroso wine will be used to season our oak casks in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in the heart of Jerez in South West Spain, before we ship them to Scotland to fill them with whisky.

Oloroso sherry is fortified to a strength of 17% to halt the development of flor, a layer of yeast that forms on the surface of the wine. By exposing the wine to air, this process creates a heavier, more structured, and complex wine.

The result is a sherry bursting with flavours of dried fruits, intricate oak notes, and a balanced sweetness, complemented by subtle hints of spice. Oloroso sherry offers a rich and indulgent drinking experience, perfect for savoring on its own or as a versatile pairing with a variety of dishes.
