Navitas Terre de Zeus Xinomavro 2022

The Navitas Terre de Zeus Xinomavro 2022 is an expressive and characterful Greek red, showcasing the distinctive savoury fruit and structure of Xinomavro grown in the foothills of Mount Olympus.

Produced by Navitas Winery in Pieria, Northern Greece, this wine is made from 100% Xinomavro grown in the estate's organically certified vineyards. The vines benefit from a moderate Mediterranean climate, cooling sea breezes and shelter from the surrounding mountains, while low yields help concentrate flavour in the grapes.

Following hand harvesting and careful sorting, the grapes undergo a cold maceration before fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured for 12 months, with two-thirds aged in second and third-fill French oak barrels and the remaining third in concrete tulip-shaped vats. It is bottled unfiltered.

The result is a wonderfully distinctive Xinomavro, opening with savoury aromas of sun-dried tomato and olive tapenade alongside violet and sweet spice. Red cherry brings freshness to the palate, supported by beautifully integrated tannins and a textured structure.

The finish is long and layered, allowing the red fruit, savoury notes and gentle spice to linger.
