McManis 2018 Merlot. Merlot grapes from Lodi, California are combined with small quantities of Petit Verdot and Tannat before 4-6 months of maturation in French and American oak.
Aromas of blueberry, blackberry, mocha, milk chocolate and toffee, give this wine a wonderful impact on palate and nose.
This Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of ripe blackberry. Medium-bodied on the palate with juicy black cherry and blackcurrant flavours, it finishes with well-rounded creamy tannins and a hint of mocha and smoke.
Dark garnet red in colour, the Cabernet Sauvignon from McManis Family Vineyards is full of dark berry fruit, such as blueberry, blackberry and black cherry. Oak aging has contributed just a hint of smokeness to the nose. The round, creamy wine delivers an abundance of the fruit flavours promised. The fruit and oak are well-integrated and the complexity of the wine plays on the palate. Delicious.
Can be enjoyed with Beef, Lamb, Game (Deer, Venison) and Poultry
The wine opens with notes of blackberry, vanilla cream, and baking spices and leads into a mid-palate dominated by black fruit, closing with a pleasing, toasty finish.
