Lochlea’s bold new addition to its core range is here Lochlea — Dark Briar, a richly indulgent Lowland single malt that celebrates the depth of sherry and port cask influence. Inspired by the hugely popular Fallow Edition, this is whisky designed to embrace the darker, more decadent side of Lochlea’s spirit.

Matured in a meticulous mix of Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry butts, and Port casks, Dark Briar delivers a dram that is unapologetically full-flavoured. Each cask type brings its own magic: PX for sticky sweetness and dried fruit, Oloroso for nutty depth and warming spice, and Port for waves of juicy red berries.

On the nose, you’re greeted with a burst of rich red fruits, plump raisins, and gingerbread spice. The palate is indulgent yet balanced, layers of black cherry, ginger cake, and dark chocolate, laced with velvety baking spices that wrap around the tongue. The finish is long, warming, and satisfyingly sweet, leaving lingering notes of fruitcake and oak.

At 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, Lochlea Dark Briar is whisky in its purest form. This dram proves Lochlea can do richness and intensity every bit as well as freshness and brightness.
