Lindores Abbey Nectere is a richly layered single malt whisky that celebrates the connection between Scotland’s historic whisky heritage and the centuries-old craft of Spanish Sherry production. Taking its name from the Latin word Conectere, meaning “to link, bind or connect”, Nectere represents the coming together of tradition, craftsmanship and modern whisky-making techniques at the spiritual home of whisky in Scotland.

Inspired by the monks who first distilled at Lindores Abbey in 1494, this exceptional release is matured exclusively in a carefully selected combination of four Sherry cask styles: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. Each cask contributes its own character, creating a whisky with remarkable depth, balance and complexity.

Oloroso provides structure with rich dried fruit and nutty notes, while Pedro Ximénez adds sweetness, richness and natural colour. Amontillado brings roasted nuttiness and lifted aromatics, with Palo Cortado adding elegance and subtle oxidative depth.

The Fife barley used in Nectere is grown on land historically connected to Lindores Abbey, creating a meaningful link between the local landscape, farming community and the whisky within the bottle.

Deep mahogany in colour, the whisky opens with aromas of treacle, red apple, vanilla custard and cinnamon. The palate develops into layers of molasses, chocolate raisins, macaroon sweetness, toffee and warming spice. The finish is long and creamy, with lingering notes of nutmeg and cinnamon.

A refined and beautifully balanced Sherry-matured expression, Lindores Abbey Nectere is a celebration of heritage, collaboration and the continuing evolution of Scottish single malt whisky.
