Crafted on the rugged shores of the Isle of Mull, Ledaig Triple Wood is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. This limited edition expression marries single malts matured in three distinct cask types—bourbon, port, and red wine—resulting in a whisky that is both robust and refined.
Each cask contributes its unique character: bourbon casks impart vanilla and spice, port casks add rich fruitiness, and red wine casks introduce depth and complexity. The result is a peated single malt that balances smoky intensity with layers of sweetness and warmth.
Nose: Inviting aromas of poached pears dusted with cinnamon, creamy butterscotch, and hints of American cream soda.
Palate: A delightful medley of apple strudel and vanilla ice cream, complemented by cracked black pepper, wood smoke, toasted oak, and treacle toffee.
Finish: Lingering notes of cloves and a touch of maple syrup, leaving a warm, smoky impression.
Beyond its exceptional flavour profile, Ledaig Triple Wood embodies a commitment to community and conservation. Created in partnership with wildlife filmmaker Gordon Buchanan and the Mull and Iona Community Trust, each bottle sold contributes £2 towards the restoration of Ardura Forest—a vital habitat on the Isle of Mull
This initiative reflects the distillery's dedication to preserving the natural beauty of its island home, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy its rich landscapes and biodiversity.
