The Kilchoman 13 year old is a carefully matured Islay single malt aged for thirteen years in a combination of bourbon barrels, smaller octave casks and Calvados casks - each contributing its own character to the final dram.
The bourbon barrels provide classic notes of vanilla, soft oak and gentle sweetness, while the octave casks help intensify the interaction between the whisky and the wood, adding richness and depth. The inclusion of Calvados casks introduces subtle orchard fruit nuances, bringing bright apple and fresh fruit complexity to the spirit.
