A long standing favourite amongst the admirers of this classic Corona Gorda. Lighter tasting than the Punch Punch or the Cohiba siglo IV, but plenty of fragrant complexity nonetheless.

Hoyo de Monterrey, a distinguished name in the world of Cuban cigars, traces its origins to the town of San Juan y Martinez, nestled in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo zone. The renowned Hoyo de Monterrey plantation, one of the esteemed Vegas de Primera, is accessible through a gate on the town's main square, inscribed "Hoyo de Monterrey. Jose Gener. 1960."

The name "Hoyo" translates to "hole," reflecting the plantation's low-lying position on the fertile banks of the San Juan y Martinez River. José Gener, a Spaniard from Tarragona, introduced the name of his vega to a brand of Habanos in 1865.

Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are celebrated for their delicate yet aromatic blend, offering a lighter taste without sacrificing elegance and complexity. This makes them an attractive choice for those seeking a refined and flavourful Habano.

The brand is especially famous for its Double Corona and the prestigious Epicure series, including the No.1 and No.2, with the longer Epicure Especial added in 2008. The Le Hoyo Series offers a range of vitolas known for being slightly stronger and spicier than the brand’s classic range.
