Golden cask Rum- Jamaican Monymusk 22yo. This impressive Monymusk Jamaican rum joins the Golden Cask Rum collection from indie bottle House of Macduff. Distilled in September 2000, the rum spent a generous 22 years maturing in a single cask, yielding a total of 183 bottles when it was opened in November 2022
This is a single cask, 2000 vintage Jamaican rum from the Clarendon distillery (also referred to as Monymusk). The exact marque is not known but this was clearly pot distilled in September 2000 and after 22 years of maturation has produced delicious elegant tropical fruits, caramel and ginger spice.
Golden cask Rum- Jamaican Monymusk 22 years old. This expression offers generous notes of fruits and spices along with the famous high-ester Jamaican funk.
Nose – A grassy nose with warm plastic and mangos in the background initially which then gives way to tropical puree. There's even a slight festive spice after a dash of water.
Palate – Sweet peaches, danish pastries and a subtle freshness from herbs
Finish – Long delicious custard like with nutmeg, caramel and ginger.
A beautifully balanced rum with tropical fruit and wood notes on the nose. The palate offers a rich, oily texture with a medley of tropical fruits, earthy herbal tones, wood spices and a hint of saltiness. The finish is highlighted by a lingering pepper spice.
