A superb Port Morant rum from Guyana, distilled in October 2002 and matured in a single cask for 20 years, until it was bottled in November 2022. A total of 155 bottles join The Golden Cask Rum collection from independent bottler House of Macduff.
Indulge in the luxurious Guyanese rum from The House of MacDuff's esteemed Golden Cask series. Crafted in the historic wooden pot stills of Port Morant, now housed at the Diamond distillery, this rum has matured gracefully for two decades. Bottled at a robust 48.7% ABV and minimally filtered, it retains its full-bodied character and depth of flavor. Renowned for its heavy profile with hints of leather, tobacco, and aniseed, the Port Morant stills produce a distinctive rum. After 20 years of aging, however, this expression has evolved into a more refined and balanced spirit, offering delicate notes of citrus zest, grass, and brown sugar.
Nose – Herbal then savoury with damp grass and samphire.
Palate – A burst of lime zest then oily rocket leaves and burnt wood.
Finish – Chewy liquorice, sawdust, coconut shavings and brown sugar.
