The Domaine des Chenevieres Mocon-Villages Mont Pele 2024 is a fresh and approachable white Burgundy, combining pure Chardonnay fruit with a creamy texture and crisp mineral character.
Domaine des Chenevieres dates back to the 1850s and has remained in the Lenoir family for six generations. The 45-hectare estate is situated in Saint Maurice de Satonnay, north of Mâcon, and is sustainably farmed with a focus on biodiversity, controlled yields and minimal vineyard treatments.
The Mont Pele vineyard has a south-easterly exposure and is planted on dry, acidic limestone soils with some clay. The combination helps produce a fresh and elegant style while providing sufficient water retention during the warmer summer months. The Chardonnay vines are approximately 35 years old.
Following gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine is then left on its fine lees until bottling, adding extra texture and complexity without masking its fresh fruit character.
The result is a quintessential Mâcon-Villages, with crisp green apple flavours complemented by a lovely creamy texture. Fresh mineral notes provide lift and definition, leading into a clean and refreshing finish.
