Tannat Wine Barrique Finish
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 50.5% ABV | 344 Bottles
A rare cask adventure from the elegant halls of Linkwood, this 12-year-old Speyside single malt takes a bold detour with a finishing spell in a 1st fill Tannat wine barrique, a twist that dials up the drama and depth in every pour.
Distilled in 2011 and bottled at a robust 50.5% ABV, it’s non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, letting the wine cask speak loud and clear. Expect a parade of fruit pastels, tart grapes, and under-ripe strawberries on the nose, carried by a delicate but noticeable spiciness that hints at oak tannin and red wine grip.
The mouthfeel is waxy and rich, with the wine influence bringing a chewy red-berry character and faint herbal note, giving way to a clean, drying finish. Only 344 bottles exist, a boutique Speyside whisky that's off the beaten path and proud of it.
This is Linkwood with a wine-drenched soul. One for the curious collector and bold sipper alike.
A bold Speyside single malt finished in a first-fill Tannat wine barrique. Expect fruit pastels, underripe strawberries and a whisper of spice. Limited to just 344 bottles.
