Hoyo de Monterrey, a distinguished name in the world of Cuban cigars, traces its origins to the town of San Juan y Martinez, nestled in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo zone. The renowned Hoyo de Monterrey plantation, one of the esteemed Vegas de Primera, is accessible through a gate on the town's main square, inscribed "Hoyo de Monterrey. Jose Gener. 1960."

The name "Hoyo" translates to "hole," reflecting the plantation's low-lying position on the fertile banks of the San Juan y Martinez River. José Gener, a Spaniard from Tarragona, introduced the name of his vega to a brand of Habanos in 1865.

Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are celebrated for their delicate yet aromatic blend, offering a lighter taste without sacrificing elegance and complexity. This makes them an attractive choice for those seeking a refined and flavourful Habano.
