Celebrate provenance and craft with the Arran Barley 10 Years Old – Batch 001. This marks a milestone for Arran Distillers: the first time their single malt has been created entirely from barley grown on the Isle of Arran itself.
The barley is sourced from Bellevue Farm, managed by the Currie family, whose crops underlie this release and reflect a deep partnership between farm and distillery. After ten years’ maturation in a blend of first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill sherry hogsheads, the spirit is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, so you’re getting the genuine character of the liquid.
Nose: Fresh herbs, light citrus, sweet vanilla and a hint of aniseed.
Palate: Spicy ginger, biscuity malt, summer fruits, a smooth oily texture with oak and vanilla undertones.
Finish: Medium-dry with citrus, ginger and aniseed lingering.
This is a whisky with story and substance. For the connoisseur shopper, it offers farm-to-glass authenticity, island character and a limited release pedigree (only 18,000 bottles worldwide). It also aligns perfectly with a premium-whisky offering: bold yet balanced, matured thoroughly and made with local ingredients set against the Isle of Arran’s dramatic backdrop.
Storage & Enjoyment Tips:
Best served neat or with a splash of water to open up the citrus and spice notes.
Serve alongside a premium cigar or enjoy after dinner with a fine cheese board.
Since it’s bottled at 50% ABV, it stands up well to flavour-rich food or can be appreciated clean.
Keep it upright, away from direct sunlight and wide temperature swings to preserve character.
