Established in 1995, the Lochranza Distillery became the first legal distillery on the island in over 150 years, reigniting a long-lost tradition of whisky-making. The distillery is situated near Lochranza, where it draws crystal-clear water from Loch na Davie, contributing to the unique character of Arran’s single malts.

The whiskies are celebrated for their purity, balance, and complexity. The island’s mild climate and pure water create ideal conditions for whisky maturation, resulting in expressions that are rich in flavour and smooth in finish. The core range includes the classic Arran 10 Year Old, known for its fresh citrus notes, and the Arran 18 Year Old, which offers a deeper, more complex profile with layers of dried fruit and spice.

Innovation is at the heart of Arran Whisky. The distillery produces both unpeated and peated expressions, such as the Machrie Moor series, showcasing the diversity of Arran’s terroir. In 2019, the opening of the Lagg Distillery on the southern tip of the island marked a new chapter, focusing on crafting robust, peated malts that complement Lochranza’s lighter styles.
