Introducing the limited-edition Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish, a distinguished release from The Glasgow Distillery’s renowned Small Batch Series. This series highlights the distillery's innovative approach to whisky making, showcasing their versatility with peated, unpeated, and triple distilled single malts through a variety of intriguing cask maturations.
Crafting Excellence: This six-year-old bottling is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. Created from four carefully selected casks, the whisky undergoes an initial maturation period of at least 3 years and 4 months in first fill ex-bourbon barrels. This is followed by an extended secondary maturation of 3 years and 6 months in Hungarian Tokaji sweet wine casks, imparting unique and complex flavours to the final product.
Tokaji Influence: Known as the "wine of Kings, the King of wine" by Louis XIV, Tokaji is a prestigious dessert wine from Hungary, with a production history dating back to 1576. Made from grapes affected by noble rot, Tokaji wine is renowned for its balanced sweetness and notes of apricot, peach, orange zest, and chamomile, which infuse the whisky with a distinctive and rich profile.
