This small-batch release leans into the stout-seasoned cask influence, delivering a whisky that’s dark, rich and layered with depth, yet unmistakably Lochlea at its core.

Bottled at a confident 52% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, this edition preserves its full, unpolished personality. The nose opens with a wave of sweet stout, gentle smoke, and warm oak, a combination that instantly signals the whisky’s cask-driven story. Take a sip and the palate swells with creamy vanilla, cinder toffee, and a hit of BBQ smoke, all carried by a weighty texture. The finish is long and satisfying, tapering off into glowing spice, green oak, rye bread and malty cereal notes.

This release, Lochlea Overtone Over and Stout pulls its identity from just five carefully selected casks:
– Three stout-seasoned casks (two Bourbon barrels + one STR barrique)
– One first-fill Bourbon barrel
– One ex-peated Bourbon barrel

The result is a harmony of stouty richness, sweet vanillas and subtle smoke, an evolution of the first Overtone bottling, but deeper, darker and more complex.
