Glendronach Ode to the Dark

The Glendronach Ode to the Dark is the richest and most full-bodied expression within the distillery's Masters Anthology, a collection created to celebrate 200 years of Glendronach and its long association with sherry cask maturation.

Matured entirely in exceptional Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, Ode to the Dark puts richness firmly at the centre of the experience. The influence of the sweet PX casks works beautifully with Glendronach's character, producing a deeply layered single malt packed with dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and caramelised sweetness.

The nose opens with mocha, black cherry and dark chocolate before developing into crème brûlée, raisins and brown sugar, with a touch of ginger providing warmth and contrast.

On the palate, the whisky becomes particularly rich and velvety. Smooth espresso and crème caramel are joined by ripe black grape and mint chocolate ganache, creating an indulgent combination of roasted, fruity and chocolate-led flavours.

Bottled at a substantial 50.8% ABV, Glendronach Ode to the Dark is a bold expression of the distillery's sherry-led style. Rich, dark and unapologetically full flavoured, it's a particularly impressive choice for those who enjoy the deeper side of sherry-matured single malt Scotch whisky.
