The RAER Inaugural Single Malt marks an important milestone for the family-run Jackton Distillery, becoming the first Single Malt Scotch Whisky to carry the RAER name.
The story began in February 2020 when the first casks of spirit were laid down at Jackton. Six years later, Batch No.1 brings together whisky matured in a combination of Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Oloroso casks, creating a rich and full-flavoured introduction to the distillery's single malt style.
The nose opens with fruitcake, figs and sultanas, immediately showing the influence of the sherry casks. On the palate, darker fruits develop alongside rich treacle and roasted nuts, bringing plenty of depth and warmth. The finish is long and mellow, with toffee, sweet spice and soft oak lingering behind.
Distilled, matured and bottled at Jackton Distillery in the Scottish Lowlands, the Inaugural Release is bottled at 48.7% ABV, at natural colour and without chill filtration.
Only 6,000 individually hand-numbered bottles have been produced, and this first batch will not be repeated. An opportunity to experience RAER single malt right at the beginning of its story.
