Indulge in the rich maritime heritage of Talisker Port Ruighe, a testament to the intrepid Scottish traders who navigated the seas to establish the global port wine trade. Double matured in port casks, this malt pays homage to the bustling trading port on Skye, 'Port Ruighe,' pronounced 'Portree' in Gaelic.

Talisker's distinctive maritime character intertwines with succulent sweet notes of luscious berry fruits, creating a captivating and contrasting taste experience. Crafted at the historic Talisker Distillery, established in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, this expression echoes the Norse roots of its name, meaning "Sloping Rock."

Tasting Notes

As you delve into the nose, a burst of sea spray is followed by intricate layers of wax, orange pith, and a delicate touch of white chocolate. Moments of Demerara sugar and subtle sticking plaster notes make a fleeting appearance, accompanied by hints of plummy and umeshu undertones. The palate introduces the classic Talisker brine, now enveloped in a sweeter embrace than usual. The texture is thick and mouth-coating, reminiscent of the Storm expression, featuring a tantalising interplay of chilli heat and chocolate orange richness. Surprisingly smoky, the taste transcends the initial olfactory impressions. As the experience unfolds, the finish evolves from milk chocolate to deep cocoa and oak, accompanied by mocha nuances and a subtle reprise of orange pith.
