The Glasgow 1770 Madeira Cask Finish Batch 1Â showcases a meticulously crafted single malt, aged for six years. This peated whisky begins its journey in a virgin American white oak cask before being transferred for nearly two years into a Madeira wine cask.
This process imparts layers of rich smoke and deep fruit flavours. Notes of apricot jam, orange peel, tobacco, and ginger cake merge with the peaty campfire smoke from the 50ppm malted barley, delivering a tropical and spice-laden experience.
The nose opens with sweet smoke, apricot jam, and rolling tobacco, mingling with dried apricots and a warm, sweet earthy spice. On the palate, discover layers of crystallised ginger, dark plum, and orange peel, accompanied by barbecued banana and rich honey. The finish unfolds with dark chocolate-coated raspberries, notes of ground coffee, and a hint of sweet cinnamon spice, leaving a lingering and satisfying impression.
