The precious liquid in the "Best of" range represents a selection from our best and oldest barrels in the collection which has been developing for over 100 years - since the opening of the distillery.

An amazing vintage Columbian Rum from Dictador, distilled in 1978 and matured for over 37 years. Dictador rum is named after Severo Arango y Ferro, nicknamed "El Dictador," who oversaw trade between Spain and its colonies in the 18th century.

The 'Best Of' series of Dictador contains a selection of the best and oldest barrels of the Destileria Colombiana. The casks, which are carefully selected by Master Parra, are American oak, sherry or port casks. All labels are handwritten and signed by Master Blender Hernan Parra. The ALTISIMO edition of the Best Of series uses unique whisky casks from the Scottish Highlands. The idea behind this is to create a combination of floral aromas, peat and smoke.
